We’ve been following Nikki and Liz in their Making Home renovation series as they transformed a house into a modern classic farmhouse style home. They’ve brought us along on the journey in a video series where they share their inside-knowledge and tips to help you achieve your dream home. Kaboodle joinery solutions were used across the entire main home, from the kitchen and butler’s pantry, to the living area, laundry and study/guest bedroom. In this final episode, all eyes are on the transformation of the granny flat apartment that sits at the back of the property. With multi-generational living on the rise, incorporating a granny flat into home designs is becoming a frequent request. Again, Nikki and Liz used the versatile range of kaboodle cabinets across the whole apartment. They kaboodled the kitchen, butler’s pantry, living room and bedroom walk-in robe! Click to watch the apartment episode below and read on for all kaboodle cabinetry and benchtop details so you can get the look!
kitchen and butler’s pantry
In keeping with the main home’s modern classic farmhouse style, Nikki and Liz selected maplenut doors and panels for its warmth and cosiness to use for the primary kitchen cabinetry. To open up the space and keep it light and bright, feta whip v doors and panels were used for the kitchen island cabinetry. biancoccino benchtops in the 19mm thickness added a sense of modern luxury to the space, without the designer price tag. Salento worn gold handles complete the look.
This colour palette continued into the adjoining butler’s pantry and throughout the apartment to provide a sense of cohesion.
Customisable open shelves in maplenut were incorporated into the butler’s pantry design to make frequently used items readily accessible. Our tip to keep your pantry open shelves looking neat and tidy is to decant dry good and spices into clear storage containers.
living room unit
A combination of drawer base cabinets were taken wall-to-wall to act as a TV stand and create some additional storage that had a sleek built-in look.
bedroom walk-in robe
And just when you thought kaboodle cabinetry couldn’t get any more versatile… Nikki and Liz also fitted out the bedroom walk-in robe! To achieve this, our pantry cabinets were used as wardrobes along one side to help keep the space tidy with majority of clothing able to be tucked away out of site. Our pantries come with full length doors or a combination of doors and drawers if you’d like the option to hang and fold items. You can check out this blog to discover all our pantry combinations. Customisable open shelves were also fitted along the other side with a rail fixed in along the base, perfect for hanging more frequently worn items or pieces you don’t mind being more display.
And there you have it, kaboodle for every room! We hope you’ve discovered the versatility of kaboodle joinery and how you can transform just about any room in your home to suit your style and needs.
